SAN ANTONIO, Texas - Trinity Tiger men's soccer All-American Zack Garcia recently signed a professional contract with the San Antonio Scorpions of the North American Soccer League.

Garcia had been playing with the Austin Aztecs of the Premier Development League (PDL).  The PDL is the amateur league of the United Soccer Leagues (USL), which covers the United States, Canada, and Bermuda.

Garcia was a three-time All-American for the Tigers from 2009-11.  He was the 2010 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Year, scoring 12 goals and five assists during the campaign.

During his career, Garcia led Trinity to three SCAC Championships and four NCAA Playoff appearances, leading the team to the NCAA Division III Quarterfinals in 2008.  He played in 78 games during his Tiger career, scoring 19 goals and 12 assists.  He finished his career with five game-winning goals during his senior season.

In addition to his new responsibilities with the Scorpions, Garcia also plans to help the Tiger men's soccer team as a volunteer assistant coach this season.
