LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – The Southern
Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) has announced a partnership
with Sportsgram, one of the largest internet sports broadcasters in
Texas, to broadcast six of its conference championship events
during the 2012-13 academic year.
This past February, Sportsgram produced and broadcasted the 2012
SCAC Swimming & Diving Championships in Rockwall Texas.
“On behalf of the member institutions of the Southern
Collegiate Athletic Conference, I am delighted to announce
this partnership with Sportsgram,” said SCAC Commissioner
Dwayne Hanberry. “We were very impressed with the work that
Steve Glenn, Terry Gregory and the entire crew at Sportsgram did
for us at the 2012 SCAC Swimming & Diving Championships. With
their base of operation being so convenient to many of our
campuses, it was a natural fit for our conference to utilize their
services for additional conference championships this
year.”
“The Sportsgram Network is very excited to continue our
partnership and work with the SCAC,” said Steve Glenn, who is
part of the ownership team of Sportsgram. “We are happy to
provide these video-streamed broadcasts for the families and fans
of these quality teams, programs and institutions.”
Almost 2,500 people watched – in real time – at least a
portion of the 2012 SCAC Swimming & Diving championships via
the Sportsgram-produced webstream.
“That is a remarkable number,” continued Hanberry.
“SCAC institutions are nationally-recognized institutions of
higher learning and they attract the best and the brightest from
across the country. Realizing that not all of our fans can travel
to be at our championships in person, these television-quality
productions are a worthwhile investment. If all goes well, we hope
to broaden the scope of these productions in the future.”
The first conference championship that Sportsgram will broadcast
this season is the SCAC Men’s Soccer Tournament, which begins
on Friday, November 2, and takes place on the campus of Trinity
University.
