Senior left-handed pitcher Emma Shepherd of Centenary made history on Saturday at home against Southwestern in the Ladies' 5-1 win as she struck out 14 batters. Her 14 strikeouts are the most by a Centenary pitcher in a single game in the Division III era (2012-present) of the program. Shepherd (3-3) went the distance in game one of Saturday's doubleheader and allowed one earned run and two hits in her seven innings of work. Shepherd's 14 strikeouts are the most by a SCAC pitcher in a game this season. First-year pitcher Thalia Reyes of McMurry earned the complete game shutout win in the circle in series finale of the War Hawks conference series sweep of Dallas at home last weekend. Reyes tossed five innings, scattering four hits and striking out three without allowing a run. She walked just three batters to post a 1.00 WHIP to go along with her perfect 0.00 ERA. Senior Amanda White of Texas Lutheran picked up two wins in the Bulldog sweep of Austin College, finishing the weekend with a 0.00 ERA only allowing one unearned run over 11.1 innings while striking out 10. Sophomore Josephine Koelewyn of Trinity led the Tigers to a three-game SCAC series sweep against Concordia last weekend. Koelewyn pitched in two of the three games and earned the win in both contests. She posted an ERA of 1.68 after allowing just two runs in 8.1 innings of work, striking out eight batters. She started game one and pitched 3.0 innings of the five-inning game, striking out five hitters. Then she came back the next day and pitched 5.1 shutout innings in relief to shut down a Concordia team that had scored two runs in the first two innings.
