Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Senior midfielder Izzy Barajas of Dallas scored the game-winning goal in the Crusaders’ 3-1 season opening victory against LeTourneau. Barajas struck from just outside the 18 into the top right corner for her first tally of the season. Freshman forward Ashley Esparza of Schreiner exploded out of the gate to open her collegiate career, registering a hat trick to lead the Mountaineers to a 3-1 win over Ozarks. It marked the first win for Schreiner since 2019. Senior forward Molly Sheridan of Trinity was outstanding in the Tigers’ 4-1 season opening victory over Fontbonne. Sheridan struck for a goal and added an assist for a total of three points.
