TRINITY PROVOST OF UNIVERSITY OF ST. THOMAS, a junior from Beaumont, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Women’s Track Athlete of the Week for meets held from Monday, March 17 through Sunday, March 23. SCAC Track & Field Weekly Release - Week 4
Provost ran the third leg of the 4x100 meter relay to help secure a win for the Celts in a conference-leading time of 47.29 at the TLU D3 Challenge. The time is currently the third-best time in nation. Provost followed up with another win in the 200 meters, running an NCAA D3-leading mark of 24.64.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Senior Danya Selber of Trinity set two TU school records at the TLU D3 Invite in the 100 hurdles and 400 relay. She won the 100 hurdles with a time of 14.57, and ran the third leg of the second place 4x100 that ran 47.64. Junior Chloe Weathers of Ozarks finished fourth overall in the mile at the Richard Martin Invitational at Central Arkansas. She was the top non D1 athlete, finishing with a 10 sec PR time of 5:15.34. Senior Naj Campbell of McMurry placed second in the 100 meter hurdles at the TLU D3 Challenge with a time of 14.73 seconds, which ranks ninth in the country. She also placed 11th in the 100 meters with a time of 12.84 and 16th in the 200 meters with a time of 26.94. Senior Isabel Olson of Colorado College finished fourth in the 1500 at the Dr. Dan Caprioglio Invite at CSU-Pueblo with a time of 4:36.84 (altitude adjusted to 4:31.02), the best time in all of Division III this season. She finished fourth out of 70 primarily Division I and II runners. First-year Eriana Raines of Schreiner competed in the 4x100 relay as well as the 100 and 200 meters at the TLU D3 Challenge. She finished eighth overall in the 100 meters with a personal best time of 12.70, and also set a personal best in the 200 meters at 27.07. Junior Kamilah Tanner of Texas Lutheran finished second in the 400 hurdles and was the lead of leg on the winning 4x400 relay at the TLU D3 Challenge. She ran 1:08.23 in the 400 hurdles.
