Rebecca Archibald, University of St. Thomas, Hitter of the Week (Week 11)

REBECCA ARCHIBALD OF UNIVERSITY OF ST. THOMAS, a sophomore outfielder from Baytown, Texas, has been named the SCAC Softball Hitter-of-the-Week for games played from Monday, April 15 through Sunday, April 21. SCAC Softball Release - Week 11

Archibald led the Celts to a key three-game series sweep last weekend at home against Centenary to keep St. Thomas in the hunt for the SCAC regular season softball crown. She was a force at the plate posting a .750 average at the plate, going 6-for-8 with seven runs scored and five stolen bases. For the weekend, Archibald was next to impossible to get out, adding five walks in the series to post an impressive .846 on-base percentage. Archibald is now fourth in the SCAC in batting average (.479) and third in the league with 37 runs scored.

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Junior second baseman Chyrsi Hemby of Austin College helped the ‘Roos clinch an SCAC Tournament spot for the first time since 2015 after helping AC earn a 2-1 series win over Schreiner last weekend. Hemby batted .600 (6-for-10) with four doubles, three RBI, one walk and one stolen base. On her third double of the series, she broke the Austin College program record for doubles in a season. Hemby also scored five runs and posted an impressive 1.000 slugging percentage. Senior outfielder Mackenzie Cox of Centenary led the Ladies in a road series at St. Thomas last weekend, batting .545 (6-for-11) with eight stolen bases, six runs scored, two walks and one double. Cox continues to lead the SCAC in runs scored this season, pushing her total to a career high 45 on the year. Cox is not seventh all-time in SCAC history with 140 runs scored. Junior outfielder Jodi Glenn-Millhouse of Southwestern led the Pirates to a two-game sweep over Dallas last weekend, posting an impressive .571 batting average going 4-for-7 at the dish. In addition, Glenn-Millhouse scored five runs and stole three bases. First year outfielder Mia Landry of Texas Lutheran led the Bulldogs to a series win at home over Trinity last weekend. Landry hit .400, going 2-for-5 with a double, and two RBI. She also drew three walks to post a .667 on-base percentage and stole two bases in the series win. First year utility player Hannah Boudreaux of Trintiy led the Tigers to a 1-2 record on the road at Texas Lutheran last weekend. She batted .556 (5-for-9) with a home run and three RBI to lead the way for the Tigers. She had two hits in the opening game of Sunday's doubleheader, then finished with a 3-for-4 performance in the team's 5-4 victory. She had three RBI and a home run in the series finale.
