CALVIN WILLIAMS IV, UNIVERSITY OF ST. THOMAS a sophomore guard from Spring, TX, has been named the SCAC Men’s Basketball Player-of-the-Week for games played Monday, December 12th through Saturday, December 17th. SCAC Men's Basketball Release (Week 6)
Williams led the Celts to a perfect 2-0 week knocking off Southwestern, 68-53, and Texas Lutheran 60-47 in SCAC action. He has continued his strong play since the start of conference play, highlighted with a season-high 25 points against Southwestern. On the week he averaged 21.5 points per game on a blistering 50 percent field goal percentage. He also added 7.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.5 steals per game. St. Thomas now sits a 10-1 overall and 4-0 in SCAC play.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Freshman guard Mason Wallace of Texas Lutheran led the Bulldogs to an impressive home win against Centenary last Saturday. Wallace had a career-high 24 points on 76.9 percent shooting, including the game-winning bucket with less than six seconds remaining. He also grabbed seven rebounds in the win. Senior forward Seth Thomas of Centenary scored a team-high 19 points and grabbed 12 rebounds in the Gents heartbreaking loss in the final seconds against TLU. It marked his fourth double-double of the season. Sophomore forward Adrian Price of Colorado College led the Tigers to an 83-66 win at home over Dallas in the lone game of the week for both teams. Price had 16 points and went 70 percent (7-for-10) from the field and added three rebounds and a steal.
