TATY ALEMAN OF UNIVERSITY OF ST. THOMAS, a junior forward from Pasedena, Texas, has been named the SCAC Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for games played from Monday, October 10th through Sunday, October 16th. SCAC Men's Soccer Release (Week 7)
Aleman recorded his second hat trick of the season and finished the weekend with four goals and one assist for a total of nine points to lead the Celts to a pair of SCAC wins over Austin College and Dallas. He now has five goals in the last three games and currently leads the SCAC with 14 goals and is tied for the lead with 31 total points.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Freshman midfielder Pierce Wear of Austin College had a strong weekend, finding the back of the net in both of the ‘Roos’ fixtures as they split road matches at St. Thomas and Centenary. Wear now has three goals on the season. Senior midfielder Jaron Petreas of Centenary continued his offensive tear over the weekend as he scored his sixth and seventh goals of the season as the Gents earned a home split in conference play with Dallas and Austin College. Petreas also added an assist in the Gents 2-0 win over Dallas to finish with five points on the week. Freshman Oliver Ramirez of Colorado College scored the lone goal in the Tigers’ key 1-1 draw on the road at TLU last Sunday. Ramirez’s goal helped CC secure four of a possible six points on a tricky SCAC road weekend. Senior forward Luis Green of Texas Lutheran became the SCAC’s all-time leader in points when he scored to give the Bulldogs a 1-1 draw against Colorado College last Sunday. Sophomore midfielder Hunter Cain of Trinity scored the game-winning goal for the Tigers in an 8-0 win over Schreiner last Saturday.
