Sophomore Rachel Chiella of Southwestern raced a pair of great races this weekend at UT-Tyler Ice Breaker. In the 1500, she dipped under five minutes for the first time to win her heat over mostly D1 competition (4:58.13). Chiella came back a couple hours later and ran 19:16.18 in the 5k for a PR by nearly two minutes. First-year Clara Lippert of Colorado College posted four top-10 results at the Dr. Dan Caprioglio Early Bird Meet in Pueblo, Colo. Individually, Lippert placed fifth in the long jump with a leap of 15' 4.75" and seventh in the 200-meter dash with a personal-best time of 26.26 seconds, the fastest time in the SCAC. She was also part of the 4x100 relay team that finished second in 51.33 seconds, and the 4x400 runner-up relay team that posted a time of 4:08.91.
