Mia Terry, University of St. Thomas, Hitter of the Week (Week 9)

MIA TERRY OF THE UNIVERSITY OF ST. THOMASa freshman infielder from Texas City, Texas, has been named the SCAC Softball Hitter of the Week for games played from Monday, April 12 through Sunday, April 18.

Terry was dominant at the plate for the Celts, batting .700 (7-for-10) with six RBI, three runs scored, three stolen bases and one double to lift St. Thomas to a three-game sweep over Austin College. She had multiple hits, drove in a pair of runs and had one stolen base in all three games. Terry’s brilliance at the plate has helped the Celts to 14-2 record over their last 16 games.

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Senior outfielder Jaide Vidal of Austin College had a big weekend at the plate for the ‘Roos, batting .625 with a .667 on-base percentage and a .750 slugging percentage in three games. Vidal scored two runs and had a double, while driving in a run. Sophomore outfielder Annabel Anderson of Dallas logged nine hits in six games last week to lead the Crusaders. Anderson doubled her home run total on the season and now has four after smacking one at University of the Ozarks and one against Schreiner. She slashed .409/.409/.727 overall and had four runs scored, three RBI, and a stolen base. Freshman infielder Marley Carrizales of Schreiner paced the Mountaineers at the plate in a conference series win over Dallas, batting .700 (7-for-10) with four runs scored and two RBI. Senior utility infielder Rebecca Snow of Texas Lutheran went 4-for-5 with three doubles and three RBI in the Bulldogs' opening-game win in the doubleheader versus Centenary. She was 1-for-3 in the second game with a run scored and a walk. In the doubleheader, she hit .625 with those three doubles, two runs scored and three RBI. Her slugging percentage was 1.000. Freshman third baseman Marina Delaluna of Trinity batted 7-12 (.583) to lift the Tigers to a SCAC series win over Southwestern for the first time since 2016. Delaluna collected six RBI and scored two runs in the three games. Delaluna had two doubles, a triple, and a home run among her seven hits for a slugging percentage of 1.167 in the series. After dropping the opening game of the series and being locked in a 1-1 tie in the final inning of game two, Delaluna lifted the Tigers to a 3-1 victory with her two-run homer in the top of the seventh. In Sunday's series finale, she hit a three-run triple in the seventh to squash Southwestern's comeback bid in a 10-4 Trinity win.
