LINDSEY LONGUET OF UNIVERSITY OF ST. THOMAS, a senior pitcher from Missouri City, Texas, has been named the SCAC Softball Pitcher of the Week for games played from Monday, April 12 through Sunday, April 18.
Longuet went a perfect 2-0 in the circle last week for the Celts, winning the opener against Austin College on Saturday and then helped deliver a sweep for St. Thomas after getting the win in game three. She pitched two complete games, allowing just eight hits and two earned runs in 12 innings of work. Longuet struck out 11, averaging 6.42 strikeouts per seven inning and posted a 1.17 ERA.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Junior Maggie Watts of Dallas delivered her one of her top-season performances with a season-long eight innings and allowed two earned runs in a 4-3 victory over Schreiner on Senior Day last Sunday. Watts worked around 10 hits, did not walk a batter, and struck out three in her lone outing on the weekend for the senior. Freshman Sydney Ouellette of Texas Lutheran notched the pitching win in the opening game of the doubleheader sweep of Centenary. Ouellette allowed just four hits in the seven-inning complete game. She struck out three and did not issue a walk. Ouellette improved to 11-2 overall this year. Senior Allie Holbrook of Trinity picked up both wins in the circle for the Tigers against the Southwestern last weekend. In the two wins, Holbrook pitched a total of 7.1 innings, scattering six hits and allowing just two earned runs.
