Hamilton Estrada, University of St. Thomas, Men's Soccer - Character & Community

HAMILTON ESTRADA OF UNIVERSITY OF ST. THOMAS, a junior defender on the men's soccer team from Houston, Texas, has been selected the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Character and Community Male Student Athlete of the Week for the week beginning December 2.

The SCAC Character & Community award honors the efforts of student-athletes who excel in the field of athletics, and also serve their campus and community.

Hamilton, a standout defender for the University of St. Thomas men's soccer team, exemplifies what it means to be a true student-athlete, not only excelling on the field but also making a lasting impact in his community through his faith.

In addition to his commitment to soccer, Hamilton is deeply involved with his church, Misión Cristiana Philadelfia, where he serves as both a mentor and a leader. He is a dedicated youth Bible study teacher, helping guide the next generation in their spiritual journeys. Through his leadership, Hamilton fosters an environment where young people can deepen their faith and stay grounded in their relationship with God.

Hamilton also plays an integral role in hosting special guests at his church, creating opportunities for people to connect and grow their faith. These guests share valuable lessons about keeping God at the center of their relationships and how to strengthen their spiritual lives. Hamilton’s passion for guiding others shines through in these events, as he works tirelessly to ensure that all involved are uplifted and inspired.

"I’ve always felt that faith should be at the center of everything," said Estrada. "Whether it’s on the soccer field or in life, I want to lead by example and help others understand the importance of keeping God in everything they do."

Hamilton’s efforts go beyond soccer drills and game strategies; he is shaping the lives of those around him by helping them grow spiritually. His dedication to faith and community makes him an outstanding leader, both within the soccer program and in the church.

Hamilton’s influence is felt far beyond the soccer pitch. As he continues to lead and mentor others, he sets a powerful example of how faith, leadership, and service can make a difference both on and off the field.
