CADE KISER OF UNIVERSITY OF ST. THOMAS, a senior from Katy, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Men’s Golfer-of-the-Week for competition played from Wednesday, September 28 through Tuesday, October 4. SCAC Golf Release (Week 4)
Kiser took medalist honors at the LeTourneau/Tempest Intercollegiate, firing rounds of 73, 72 and 70 to finish at a one under par 215, the only person in the 80-player field to navigate the 7,098 yard, par 72 Tempest Golf Club course in under par. His final round of 70 tied for the low round of the event and helped the Celts to a sixth place team finish.
Kiser was the only player to card two eagles over the two-day tourney and he played the par fives at -5 (second-best in the tournament to his teammate Jonathan Miller).
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Junior Ricky Blair of Centenary fired a 75 (+3) to pace three Gents atop the leaderboard at the Centenary/Millsaps/Hendrix tri match on Saturday at Black Bear Golf Club in Delhi, La. Teammates Andrew Bennett and Jeff Borchert equaled Blair's 75 as Centenary took top honors in the three-team one-day shootout.
