CAMERON MCCLURE OF ST. THOMAS, a senior outfielder from The Woodlands, Texas, has been named the SCAC Baseball Hitter of the Week for games played from Monday, March 6 through Sunday, March 12. SCAC Baseball Release - Week 5
McCLURE had an outstanding showing at the plate last weekend, leading the Celts to a 2-2 record against non-conference foes. He batted a steady .600, going 9-for-15 with six RBI, four runs scored, a home run and one double. McClure registered a hit in each contest, including three multiple hit performances, highlighted by four hits in the Celts win over Hardin-Simmons to close out the weekend. Additionally, McClure walked twice, posted a .647 on-base percentage, stole a pair of bases and finished with an .867 slugging percentage.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Freshman right-fielder Carson Livesay of Centenary continued his impressive start to his rookie season by hitting a scorching .529 (9-17) this past week in four games for the Diamond Gents. He finished with three multi-hit games including a pair of three-hit performances, totaled three extra-base hits including his first-career home run, had four RBI, scored eight runs, stole four bases, and drew two walks. Senior infielder Landin Durdin of Southwestern went 6-for-13 at the plate in the Pirates four games last week, batting .462 with three RBI, one double, and three runs scored. Junior first-Baseman Tyler Post of Texas Lutheran hit .333, going 4-for-12 at the plate in the Bulldogs four games last week. Post finished the week with five RBI, one triple, a home run and two runs scored. Graduate infielder Chance Goins of Schreiner hit .500 (10-for-20) at the plate in the Mountaineers’ four games last week. Goins finished with six RBI, a double, a triple, a home run and six runs scored. Freshman outfielder Brest Castillo of Dallas led the Crusaders in doubleheader sweep over non-conference foe Blackburn last week. Castillo batted hit .667 with two doubles, five RBI and five runs scored. Senior utility Ezra Gore of Trinity led 14th-ranked Tigers to a split last week, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, two walks, and three stolen bases against UT-Dallas and DeSales.
