NY'CIERRA HINTON OF UNIVERSITY OF ST. THOMAS, a senior from Waco, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Women’s Track Athlete of the Week for meets held from Monday, March 31 through Sunday, April 6. SCAC Track & Field Weekly Release - Week 6
Hinton ran a lifetime best 11.98 in the 100 meters at the Pelican Relays. She became the first Lady Celt to run under 12 seconds in program history.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Junior Chloe McLellan of McMurry competed in her first 5K of the season at the David Noble Relays, and ran a 54-second PR with a finishing time of 18.30.68 to place third overall, beating all Division III competitors at the meet. First-year Allison Leonesio of Dallas ran a PR of 21:55.43 in the 5,000 meters despite the windy and cold conditions at the UNT Bill Schmidt Invitational.
