LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - Schreiner University clinched at least a share of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference men's basketball regular season title this weekend, doing so for the first time since the Mountaineers joined the league.
The field for the tournament has been decided, as Centenary College locked up the final spot this weekend. Though no seeding has been determined, the 2017 championship field includes: Centenary, Colorado College, Schreiner, Southwestern University, Texas Lutheran University and Trinity University.
Schreiner moved to 13-10 on the season and 10-2 in conference play after defeating Centenary College and Austin College this weekend. They have two games remaining on their regular season schedule, both against Trinity.
Texas Lutheran (15-9, 9-4 SCAC) went 1-1 this weekend, defeating the University of Dallas (7-15, 2-11 SCAC), but falling to Colorado College (10-14, 9-4 SCAC).
Southwestern swept UD and Colorado College over the weekend to move to 13-11 on the season and 8-5 in SCAC play. They will face TLU this week to close out the regular season.
