LEXINGTON, Ky. -- The American Volleyball Coaches Association released the Division III preseason Coaches Top 25 poll Wednesday and two Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference programs were ranked. Full Release
Colorado College, coming off a historic season, is tabbed No. 9 in the nation, while Southwestern University, under the new leadership of Head Coach Don Flora, is ranked No.16. Trinity University is also recieving votes in the poll.
The Tigers posted a record of 34-4 record in 2015, after finishing the regular season at 33-2, the best record in CC program history. After falling in the second round of the SCAC championship, they earned an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament, but lost to eventual national champion California Lutheran University.
Southwestern also found success in 2015, winning the SCAC Championship for the fourth time in program history. The Pirates went 31-5 through the season, includinga record of 12-2 in SCAC action. Their only league losses came to Colorado College.
Both Southwestern and Colorado College will begin their season on Friday, September 2. They will meet for the first time on Saturday, September 24 at a cross-divisional hosted by Austin College.
