INDIANAPOLIS – While Centenary College baseball knew it was NCAA Regional bound for two weeks, the Gents finally know who they will play and where with a release from the NCAA late Sunday night, May 14.

Centenary will be the third seed in the West Regional at Tyler, Texas, and take on fourth-seeded Linfield College Thursday night, May 18, with first pitch scheduled at 7 p.m. This will be the first meeting ever between the Wildcats and Gents.

While the opponent is unfamiliar, the location of play certainly is not. Centenary has already played three games this season at Irwin Field on the campus of UT Tyler. The Maroon and White lost to Mary Hardin-Baylor and UT Tyler in February, but beat the Patriots 6-5 on March 21.

Thanks to Centenary’s trip to the west coast to begin the season, the Gents and Wildcats have a few common opponents. Centenary won at La Verne to begin the season, while Linfield took a double header at La Verne March 26. Centenary split a doubleheader at Redlands, while the Wildcats won a neutral site game against Redlands February 11.

Finally, the Maroon and White won at Occidental while the Wildcats lost a neutral-site game.

In other games on Thursday in the West Regional, the host and top-seeded Patriots play sixth-seeded Rhodes on at 11 a.m., while second-seeded Cal Lutheran takes on fifth-seeded Concordia (Texas) at 3 p.m.

With a win, the Gents will take on the winner of Cal Lutheran and Concordia (Texas) in the final game on Friday night. If Centenary falls in its first game, the Maroon and White takes on the winner of the Patriots and Rhodes in the second game on Friday.
