LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. -- After completing a one year appointment with the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference, Sports Information and Multimedia Assistant Blake Childers has accepted an offer to become the Director of Sports Information and Promotions at Berry (Ga.) College.
Childers, a 2015 graduate of Berry, returns to his alma mater after spending the 2015-16 season with the league office. In his time at the SCAC, he was the main contact for eight sports, while also handling most of the conference's video editing, interviewing and producing duties.
Under Childers' guidance, the conference saw large gains in viewership for all videos, increasing the total views by more than 300%, while the average views per video grew by the same amount.
Moving into his new role, Childers' will oversee all areas of sports information and promotion for the college's 23 intercollegiate sports. In this role, he will draw upon his own Berry experience while coordinating the activities of students responsible for game-day logistics, photography and videography, writing press releases, and other duties.
