SAN ANTONIO - Trinity University women's junior swimmer Lindsay Hagmann has been tabbed as a CollegeSwimming.com Division III Preseason All-American.
Last season, Hagmann earned All-America accolades at the NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships at Greensboro, North Carolina. Hagmann placed seventh in the 100-yard freestyle event, posting a school-record time of 50.79 seconds. She finished 24th while competing in the 50-yard freestyle. Hagmann was also a competitor in the same events at the 2015 NCAA Championships. Along with All-America divers Sarah Kate Mrkonich and Danielle Freund, Hagmann and her teammates finished 17th nationally at the 2016 event, in a tie with Pomona-Pitzer (CA) Colleges.
Hagmann was a key contributor to the Tigers as they captured their 13th consecutive Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championship, at the meet held in Lewisville, Texas. The eventual SCAC Swimmer of the Meet won the 100-yard freestyle with conference-meet record time of 50.86 seconds. Hagmann also captured the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:06.97, and placed second in the 50-yard freestyle (23.63 seconds). The versatile Hagmann was part of the winning 200-yard freestyle relay team,as well as the runner-up 200-yard medley and 400-yard freestyle relay foursomes.
An extraordinary student, Hagmann received an additional honor in the summer of 2016. She was named a Scholar All-American by the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America.
Trinity's head swimming coach is John Ryan, who has completed 25 years at the Tigers helm. Stan Randall has been the Tiger diving coach for 14 years.
