LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - Three conference women's tennis teams were on the court this past week for the beginning of the spring portion of the 2016-17 season.
The 23rd-ranked Trinity women's tennis team opened its spring campaign on Wednesday with a 9-0 shutout of Birmingham-Southern. The Tigers closed the week with a close 4-3 loss to NCAA Division I University of the Incarnate Word on Saturday.
Southwestern and Texas Lutheran also hit the courts for their spring season openers. Southwestern lost a 6-3 decision to NCAA Division II St. Edwards while Texas Lutheran dropped a 7-2 decision to Birmingham-Southern.
Weather forced the cancellation of a couple of matches on Saturday.
