KANSAS CITY, Kan. – Four Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference men’s soccer student-athetes received Scholar All-America honors from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA).
All four players earned first team honors, with three from Colorado College and on from Trinity University. Colorado College was represented by goalkeeper Theo Hooker, defender Jack McCormick and midfielder Soren Frykholm. Trinity defender Kellen Reid rounded out the group.
Hooker, a junior from Albuquerque, N.M. posted a 3.61 grade point average in mathematical economics. Hooker ranked 15th nationally and led the SCAC with a 0.64 goals against average. He also tied for second in the league with a .800 saves percentage and 10 shutouts.
McCormick, a senior from Hudson, Ohio, holds a 3.32 GPA as an economics major. McCormick anchored the Tigers’ back line from his center back position. He started in all 18 games that he played this season, helping CC to 12 shutouts on the year, while allowing just 12 goals all season.
Frykholm, a senior from Boulder, Colo., recorded a 3.82 GPA in romance languages. Frykholm was a key member of the Colorado College defense which tied for eighth nationally with a .600 shutout percentage.
Reid, a junior from Coppell, Texas, posted a 3.46 GPA in accounting to earn his spot on the list. On the season, Reid amassed seven goals and one game-winner. He also dished out five assists and finished the season with 19 points.
