Trinity's Whittaker Named CoSIDA Academic All-American

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – Trinity University's Todd Whittaker earned CoSIDA Academic All-America honors for his performance both in the classroom and on the field.

Whittaker was named to the 2016 CoSIDA Academic All-America Team, the nation’s most prestigious academic award for student-athletes.

The senior goalkeeper was one of 33 men’s soccer student-athletes to earn a spot on the list, taking first team honors. Whittaker holds a 3.79 grade point average, majoring in chemistry.

On the field, Whittaker has been a force in the net for Trinity, leading the conference with a goals against average of 0.57, allowing just 11 goals all season.

Triniy earned the league title in both the regular season and the tournament, and has advanced to the round-of-16 in the NCAA Men's Soccer Tournament. The Tigers will continue their season Saturday.
