LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. -- Trinity University relief pitcher Chris Tate earned a spot on the D3baseball.com Team of the Week after his winning performance for the Tigers Friday.
Tate, a senior from Chandler, Ariz., earned the honor after coming on in relief to pitch the Tigers to a 5-4 12-inning victory over Sul Ross State University.
Tate threw 6.2 shutout innings to finish Friday's game, giving up no hits and just one walk, while striking out eight batters.
