LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - After a thrilling win on Saturday night, Schreiner University clinched sole possession of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference men's basketball regular season title and the top seed in the upcoming tournament.
Schreiner closed out the final week of the regular season with a 1-1 record against Trinity University, moving to 11-3 in conference play.
Texas Lutheran University and Colorado College each earned wins in their only games, both moving to 10-4 to tie from second place in the standings. Colorado College owned the head-to-head tiebreaker among the two teams to take the No. 2 seed in the tournament, and earn a first round bye. The Bulldogs will be the No. 3 seed.
Southwestern University, Trinity and Centenary College round out the other tournament participants in the No. 4, 5 and 6 seeds, respectively.
The tournament will begin Friday evening at 5 p.m. in Georgetown with a matchup between Southwestern and Trinity.
