Southwestern, Colorado Hold Onto Positions in AVCA Coaches Poll

LEXINGTON, Ky. -- The American Volleyball Coaches Association released the Division III preseason Coaches Top 25 poll Tuesday, and both Southwestern University and Colorado College remained at their respective positions.

Both Southwestern and Colorado College have been in the top 25 poll since the beginning of the season. Despite defeating a nationally ranked opponent for the second week in a row, Trinity University still remains outside the top 25. However, the Tigers are receiving the second-most votes among non-ranked teams.

Southwestern University moved to 17-0 after the conference matches September 24-25, and was on hiatus over the weekend. The Pirates will return to the court tonight as they face Huston-Tillotson University.

Colorado College had just one match over the weekend, facing Johnson & Wales University and earning a 3-0 sweep to move to 14-2 on the season. The Tigers will face Division II Colorado Christian University this evening at home.

Conference play will begin again for both teams this weekend as they compete in their respective divisionals.
