LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - The 2017 SCAC baseball season got underway this week as four of the league's seven teams took to the diamond and posted a cumulative 7-6 mark.
Centenary went out to California and posted a 3-1 mark, including an 11-1 victory over 21st-ranked Occidental on Sunday. Another highlight of the weekend was senior outfielder Michael Schimpf hitting for the cycle as he posted a 4-for-5 day at the plate with four RBIs and two runs scored in Saturday evening's 9-4 win against Redlands.
The 10th-ranked Texas Lutheran squad bounced back from a 7-1 opening night defeat on Friday to Concordia (Texas) to sweep the Tornados, 8-0 and 16-3, on Saturday.
