LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. -
Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference women’s soccer continued last week with four conference fixtures, leaving four teams tied for second in the conference standings with six points and a 2-1-0 record in league play.

Trinity (3-0-0, 3-0-0) remained unbeaten on the season after defeating Schreiner (0-3-0, 0-3-0), 4-0, last Saturday in Kerrville. Molly Sheridan scored her second game-winning goal in as many contests for the Tigers, while Kaity Ward, Nyah Shepherd and Tedi Del Prete also found the back of the net in the win. Trinity outshot Schreiner, 20-2, and held a 6-4 edge in corner kicks. It was second shutout in three games for the Tigers. Audrey Rivera made 14 saves in net for the Mountaineers.

Dallas (2-1-0, 2-1-0) handed Centenary (6-1-0, 2-1-0) its first loss of the season, 1-0, last Saturday in Shreveport. The Ladies had extended their unbeaten steak to six earlier in the week after blanking Mississippi University for Women, 3-0. After a scoreless first half, Dallas’ Maddie Rodriguez scored the lone goal of the match in the 49th minute off a feed from Courtney Bokanyi. It was just the second time all season the Ladies had conceded a goal. Centenary held a slight edge in shots, 13-11, but it was the Crusaders holding a 6-5 advantage in shots on goal. Macey Henderson finished with five saves in posting her second shutout of the season.

Southwestern (2-1-0, 2-1-0) handed Austin College (0-3-0, 0-3-0) its third, 1-0, loss of the season last Saturday in Sherman. Alexis Guajardo scored her first goal of the season on an unassisted tally in the 41st minute of the contest. The Pirates outshot the ‘Roos, 18-3, on the afternoon. Meredith Harris made a season-high 10 saves in net for Austin College. Harris now has 24 saves through three games this season for the ‘Roos.

Texas Lutheran (2-3-0, 2-1-0) defeated St. Thomas (1-2-0, 1-2-0), 1-0, last Friday in Seguin. The Bulldogs and Celts battled late into the second half before Samantha Martinez knocked home a shot off a beautiful pass into the box from Alyssa Reimer in the 85th minute of the contest to lift TLU to its second-straight conference victory. St. Thomas held a slight edge in total shots, 13-11, and shots on goal were even between the two teams. Abigail Walker made a career-high eight saves in net for TLU to notch her first career shutout, while Carmen Lozada registered seven saves in goal for St. Thomas.

SCAC women’s soccer continues this week with four fixtures on the schedule. Austin College will travel to face TLU and Southwestern will host St. Thomas on Friday, while Trinity will take on Dallas in Irving and Centenary will host Schreiner on Saturday.
