LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. -
It was a light week in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference women’s soccer action with just three fixtures on the schedule, highlighted by Trinity staying perfect in league play.

Trinity (4-0-0, 4-0-0) stayed unbeaten on the season after defeating Dallas (2-2-0, 2-2-0), 1-0, in overtime last Saturday in Irving. It marked just the sixth time a team has pushed Trinity to overtime during its current 121-game unbeaten streak in conference play. After outshooting Dallas, 32-4, in a scoreless opening 90 minutes, Trinity’s Kaity Ward buried her fourth goal of the season five minutes into OT to deliver a win for the Tigers. Ward has now scored in three-straight games, pushing her career total to 16 and now has five career game-winners. Her goal was assisted by Alex Walsh, her second game-winning assist on the season. Maddie Rodriguez finished with the Crusaders’ lone shot on goal and Macey Henderson grabbed 16 saves in net for Dallas.

Austin College (0-3-1, 0-3-1) secured its first result of the season last Friday following a 1-1 draw on the road against Texas Lutheran (2-3-1, 2-1-1). Samantha Martinez gave TLU a 1-0 lead in the 57th minute. Madison Alexander delivered the assist. Austin College responded with a goal in the 66th minute from Hallie Dickerson off an assist from Sydney Padget. TLU outshot Austin College 14-1 following the tying goal through the rest of regulation and overtime but the game ended in a draw. The Bulldogs ended up outshooting the ‘Roos, 32-7. Elana Rivera made two saves for TLU and Meredith Harris finished with season-high 21 saves for Austin College. Harris now leads the SCAC with 45 saves on the year.

Centenary (7-1-0, 3-1-0) remained three points behind Trinity in the league standings after defeating Schreiner (0-4-0, 0-4-0), 2-0, on Saturday in Shreveport. Sydney Bascomb got the scoring started in the 35th minute off a feed from Avery Gilbert. It was the second goal of the season for Bascomb. The score remained 1-0 into the second half when Gabby McDonald delivered her team leading fourth goal of the season, in the 74th minute. Maggie Pitcher made six saves to help the Ladies post their sixth shutout of the season. Natalee Talley finished with two shots, including one shot on goal for the Mountaineers, while Audrey Rivera was credited with eight saves in net for Schreiner.
