UST Women's Soccer dropped a hard-fought battle to Texas Lutheran as a late goal in the 84th minute led the Bulldogs the victory.
UST's offense pressured the Bulldogs outshooting them 6 to 4, with 3 shots on goal in the first half. Unfortunately for the Celts, none of these threats were capitalized on. The current SCAC Defensive Player of the week, Carmen Lozada, found herself to continue to be tested time and time again, recording 3 huge saves to hold the Bulldogs scoreless going into the half.
The second half mirrored the first as both teams continued to challenge one another. During the final 45, the Celts offense attacked the Bulldogs with 4 shots on goal. Lozada continued to come out huge for the Celts having recorded 4 more saves. Ultimately, it was not enough to keep the Bulldogs at bay. In the final minutes of the game, the Bulldogs capitalized off an opportunity to give them the game-winning goal as time expired, to steal the game 1-0.
The Celts return to action next Friday when they travel to Georgetown to face Southwestern University.
