HOW IT HAPPENED
- Trinity rushed out to a 22-point lead thanks to 10 total top-three finishes. Elaine Kaster (40:51.48) and Abby Blackwood (41:01.21) took the top two spots in the 10,000 meters. Teammates Ellie Catron (11:44.96) and Jordan Juran (11:45.02) were first and second in the 3,000 meter steeplechase. The Texas Tiger duo of Danya Selber (26.43) and Jordyn White (26.45) finished second and third in the 200 meter dash. Trinity placed first and second in the triple jump as Selina Noe (36' 4 3/4") and White (35' 6.5") took top honors. Rouding out the impressive showing was Kierra Francois who was second in the hammer throw with a toss of 134' 9".
- Host Texas Lutheran produced a strong showing in the 200 meter dash as three Bulldog student-athletes finished in the top five. Jacqueline Mora took top honors with a time of 25.41 while teammates Ja'Keia Williams (26.61) and Mia Zamora (26.75) finished fourth and fifth, respectively. Texas Lutheran was aided by Dejah Carr's win in the hammer throw (140' 3") as well as her second place finish in the shot put (36' 4 3/4"). She was edged out by teammate Tia Hart's toss of 39' 2 1/2" in the shot put.
- Colorado College secured two top-four finishes in the 3,000 meter steeplechase as Kendall Accetta (third - 11:51.26) and Na'ama Nevo (fourth - 12:03.82) led the way for the Tigers.
