LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. -- Heading into the final week of the SCAC Softball regular season, five of the six tournament spots have been locked up as Texas Lutheran, Trinity, Schreiner, Centenary and Southwestern have all punched their ticket into the postseason.

Texas Lutheran (25-4, 16-0) swept a rain shorted series at Centenary (15-16, 8-8) last Saturday winning the opener, 9-3, and taking game two, 9-4. At the plate, Rebecca Snow went 4-for-5 with three doubles and three RBI in the Bulldogs' opening-game win versus Centenary. She was 1-for-3 in the second game with a run scored and a walk. In the doubleheader, she hit .625 with those three doubles, two runs scored and three RBI. Her slugging percentage was 1.000. In the circle, Sydney Ouellette picked up the win in game one. Ouellette allowed just four hits in the seven-inning complete game. She struck out three and did not issue a walk. Ouellette improved to 11-2 overall this year.

Trinity (12-12, 8-8) picked up a conference series win over Southwestern (11-18, 8-10) for the first time since 2016, dropping the opener before rebounding to take games two and three for a 2-1 series victory. The Tigers were led at the plat by freshman Marina Delaluna. Delaluna batted 7-12 (.583) in the three-game SCAC series, collecting six RBI and scoring two runs. Delaluna had two doubles, a triple, and a home run among her seven hits for a slugging percentage of 1.167 in the series. After dropping the opening game of the series and being locked in a 1-1 tie in the final inning of game two, Delaluna lifted the Tigers to a 3-1 victory with her two-run homer in the top of the seventh. In Sunday's series finale, she hit a three-run triple in the seventh to squash Southwestern's comeback bid in a 10-4 Trinity win. Senior Allie Holbrook picked up both wins in the circle for the Tigers against the Pirates. In the two wins, Holbrook pitched a total of 7.1 innings, scattering six hits and allowing just two earned runs.

Schreiner (15-20, 10-7) took three of four against Dallas (4-18, 2-16) last weekend, sweeping the opening three SCAC counting contests before dropping the final non-conference fourth game. Freshman Marley Carrizales paced the Mountaineers at the plate, batting .700 (7-for-10) with four runs scored and two RBI. Bri Wodtke won game one and game three in the circle for Schreiner, while Kaylee Culpepper picked up the victory in game two. In game four, Devinne Green went 3-for-4 at the plate with two RBI for the Crusaders and Maggie Watts went the distance in the circle with three strike outs.

The final SCAC series of the week saw St. Thomas (20-9, 15-3) improve to 14-2 in its last 16 contests after sweeping Austin College (2-20, 1-16) in a three-game series at home. Mia Terry was dominant at the plate for the Celts, batting .700 (7-for-10) with six RBI, three runs scored, three stolen bases and one double. She had multiple hits, drove in a pair of runs and had one stolen base in all three games. Lindsey Longuet continued her outstanding senior season, picking up two more victories in the circle, winning the opener on Saturday and closing out the series with a win on Sunday. Longuet pitched two complete games, scattering just eight hits, allowing two earned runs and striking out 11 in 12 innings of work.

SCAC Softball continues this week as teams battle for seeding going into the SCAC Tournament. Conference action gets going on Wednesday when Trinity heads to Schreiner for a doubleheader, followed by four SCAC series this weekend. St. Thomas visits Texas Lutheran, Dallas heads to Trinity, Schreiner hosts Centenary and Southwestern and Austin College go head-to-head in Sherman.
