LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. -- The third full week of SCAC baseball continued this week with 12 games on the schedule.

No. 3 Trinity (6-0) posted a 7-3 victory over Hardin-Simmons on Tuesday. Four Tigers collected multi-hit games, including Michael Herrera, Brian Schaub, Jack Vonderhaar, and senior Michael Goodrich. First-year Harrison Durow picked up his first collegiate victory from the mound with five and two-third innings of relief.

St. Thomas (9-0) continued its winning ways with a four-game sweep over Dallas Christian. In their first double-header of the weekend, the Celts outscored Dallas Christian 33-6. In the first victory of the day (a 16-3 win), Parker Edwards, John Sebok, Leo Galvan, and Caleb Edmonds all recorded RBIs. Edward Gutierrez locked in the second win of the day for the Celts with an RBI double in the 17-3 victory. The Celts continued the streak with a 10-0 victory in game three and a 5-4 win to finish off the series. Jason Brown led the way in game three with a 3-for-4 performance at the plate with one RBI and one run scored. Galvan recorded two RBIs to go along with his one hit. Nick Petro pitched a complete game, striking out seven and only allowing just five hits. In game four Kyle Bearden was a perfect 4-for-4 on the contest, tabulating four RBIs and scoring two runs. Gutierrez recorded a 3-for-4 performance and knocked in three runs.

Centenary (9-2) went 3-0 with a non-conference sweep of Dubuque. A 13-6 win in game one was led by senior Tyler Erickson who was 2-for-5 with a season-high four RBI and a run scored. Preston Ludwick was 2-for-5 with two RBI and two runs scored. The Gents posted a 4-1 victory in game two, led by Ludwick and Cody Crowder who each led a nine-hit effort with two hits apiece. Each also had a run scored and a walk to their credit. The Gents finished the sweep with a 4-0 win on Saturday. Ben Bridges, Gary Hewitt, and Luke Royle each collected two hits.

Austin College (3-1) swept Dallas Christian on Wednesday, winning game one 8-7 followed by a 12-5 victory in game two. Zack Mahoney went 3-for-4 with two doubles to pace the ‘Roos while Jake Thomas picked up the win in relief. In game two, Ryan Culp earned the win for Austin College, surrendering four unearned runs on five hits in 4.0 innings of work. Jake Webster went 2-for-3 with three RBI and Justin Alphonse, Brandon Hill, and Garrett Gray each collected a pair of hits in the win.

Texas Lutheran (5-2) was 3-1 over the weekend, which included a pair of non-conference wins over Southwestern. In Friday’s 12-7 victory over Southwestern, the Bulldogs stole seven bases with Alex Cornman picking up three and Cullen Motsinger taking two. TLU pitchers struck out 17 Southwestern batters in the contest with starting pitcher Matthew Hickey picking up 12 of those in six innings. Nolan Tenpas worked the final three innings, allowing two hits and two runs with five strikeouts. On Saturday, the Bulldogs scored 14 runs on 16 hits and held Southwestern to four hits and three runs to secure the victory. Tyler Post went 3-for-5 with two runs scored and three RBI, Alex Cornman added two hits and two RBI, and Collin Docker drove in a pair of runs. Joe Jimenez and Cullen Motsinger each scored three times, and Jimenez stole a pair of bases.

Southwestern (1-7) went 1-3 over the weekend with a non-conference victory over Texas Lutheran on Saturday. The Pirates had a close 6-5 loss early in the week against Texas-Dallas. Sophomore Trey Dees pitched a solid first five innings, surrendering six hits and three earned runs with three strikeouts and no walks. In the third game of the three-game set against Texas Lutheran, the Pirates rallied for an 11-8 victory earning their first win of the season. Hayden Craig and Daniel Montgomery Jr. led the way at the plate with Montgomery going 3-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs scored, and Craig had two hits in four trips to the plate, scoring both times he reached. Cole Johnson was a steady force for the Pirates, surrendering two earned runs out of the three scored on him and allowing four hits with six walks while striking out five.

Dallas (1-3) split games over the weekend, earning a 6-1 win over LeTourneau. Joe Vondrachek led the way for the Crusaders, going 4-for-7 with four runs scored and three stolen bases for the series. In game one, Michael Jaquez went 2-for-3 with a triple and two RBIs and Zach Taylor was 2-for-3 with a double and three RBIs. Nathan Patton, Ross Lowe, and Andrew Womack all had two hits apiece in game two.
