LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - The fourth week of SCAC volleyball tipped off with four more conference doubleheaders, highlighted by No.1 Colorado College remaining unbeaten. 

 No.1 Colorado College (8-0; 8-0 SCAC) continued its unbeaten streak with a weekend sweep of Southwestern. In their first 3-0 victory, the Tigers were led by Georgia Mullins who finished with 16 kills while hitting .522 on 23 swings. Isabella Lipacis recorded her second double-double of the season with 11 kills and 10 digs. In Saturday’s 3-0 victory, Isabella Vasquez and Isabelle Aragon-Menzel each posted double-doubles, Vasquez had 11 kills and 13 digs, with Aragon-Menzel finished with 22 assists and 13 digs. Sophomore Meaghan Hohman led CC with a .667 attack percentage with four kills on six attempts. Georgia Mullins finished at .364 with four kills on an error-free 11 tries. In Friday’s match, Southwestern (1-3; 1-3 SCAC) was led by Emma White who had nine kills and six digs. On Saturday, Lauren Crabtree produced seven kills, six assists and 11 digs while Ali Grona chipped in with 12 digs.  

No.3 Trinity (6-2; 6-2 SCAC) also managed a pair of 3-0 victories as the Tigers swept a pair of matches from Centenary on Saturday. Trinity won 25-13, 25-9, and 25-18 in the opener and 25-15, 25-22, and 25-17 in the second match. In their first win the Tigers were led by Maddie Fate and Sarah Williammee, who each produced seven kills. In the second match, Emily Ellis recorded seven kills, with Sami Lin adding 13 digs. Trinity posted a total of 13 blocks on the day with Emily Ellis recording three and Emma Funk adding four. Williammee and Sara Flynn led the way with 11 kills apiece over the two wins. Leading the way for Centenary (1-5; 1-5 SCAC) was Alyssa Davis who had 12 kills in the first match followed by eight more in the second. Jaycie Proctor recorded 14 digs in the first match and added 13 in the later match.

Austin College (6-2; 6-2 SCAC) came away with 3-2 and 3-1 wins over Schreiner on Saturday. Olivia Linton led the ‘Roos in the morning match with 23 kills and a .422 hitting percentage. Victoria Smith added nine kills in the victory, with Shelbi Cook adding eight. Mari Prazak paced the ‘Roos with 24 digs, while Riley Abernathy added 15. In the second match, Linton and Smith had 12 and 13 digs, respectively, while Prazak finished with 23 digs. Schreiner (1-7; 1-7 SCAC) was led by Kayla Lofland, who finished with 16 kills in Saturday’s first match.

St. Thomas (5-1; 5-1 SCAC) earned a split at Dallas over the weekend, bouncing back with a 3-1 victory in Friday’s second match. Alaina Lank led the Celts with her first triple double – posting 22 kills, dishing out 11 assists and recording 14 digs while hitting .345. Kaylyn Latin added 29 digs to earn the spilt for the Celts.

University of Dallas (1-5; 1-5 SCAC) picked up its first win of the 2021 season in Friday’s first match against St. Thomas. Ellise Anable and Dayjah Whyte led the way in the 3-2 victory, with each recording 11 kills. Larissa Ramirez added 26 assists and 10 digs for the double-double. Chloe Ilagan had 18 digs to pace UD in the victory.      

Week five in the SCAC continues with 12 more matches on the schedule, including a Thursday makeup doubleheader between Southwestern and Trinity.
