DALLAS, Texas -- The top-seeded and 11th-ranked Trinity University women advanced to their 12th straight conference final with Saturday's 5-0 defeat of Schreiner University in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Women’s Tennis Championship semifinal action Saturday afternoon on the Ruth & Ken Altshuler indoor courts at the Brookshire Family Pavilion on the campus of SMU. Trinity improved its record to 14-4 and will take on the winner of second-seeded Southwestern and third-seeded Colorado College, in tomorrow's championship match. First serve is scheduled for 2 p.m. CT. Schreiner University slips to 8-10 after the Mountaineers made their first appearance in the SCAC semifinals since 2021.
The Tigers were impressive from the jump, sweeping all three doubles matches by comfortable margins, led by an 8-0 victory at the top line courtesy of Ruth Hill and Olivia Kim and an 8-1 win at line three from Bella Andrade and Ellie Hughes.
Needing two points to advance to Sunday's final, Trinity didn't have to wait long as the Tigers chalked up two shutout wins as Hill and Andrade both posted 6-0, 6-0 victories at No. 3 and No. 4 singles, respectively with Andrade getting the clinching point.
Trinity will be seeking its 26th conference championship in the sport of women's tennis on Sunday.
