ST. LOUIS, Mo. -- Trinity University women's tennis juniors Ruth Hill and Olivia Kim were eliminated in the opening round of the 2024 NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships, hosted at Washington University.

Hill was playing in the Singles Tournament, facing off against top-seeded Rena Lin of the University of Chicago (IL). Hill won the opening set 6-1, but fell 6-4, 6-1 in the next two sets and was eliminated.

Joining Hill for the Doubles Championships was longtime doubles partner Kim, facing off against the Amherst College (MA) team of Lily Dounchis and Deliala Charles Friedman. Amherst won 6-2 to start the match, but the Tigers rallied for a 6-2 win of their own to force a final set. Amherst prevailed 6-4 to oust Trinity from the competition.

Both Kim and Hill swept the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Regional Singles and Doubles Championships last fall, securing All-American status for both players. This is the second straight season that Hill has earned the All-American honors in both singles and doubles, while also being the second straight year for Kim to garner the recognition in doubles.
