Taylor Braxton, Schreiner University, Women's Volleyball - Character & Community

TAYLOR BRAXTON OF SCHREINER UNIVERSITY, a junior middle hitter on the women's volleyball team from San Antonio, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Character & Community Female Student-Athlete of the Week for the week beginning October 23.

The SCAC Character & Community award honors the efforts of student-athletes who excel in the field of athletics, and also serve their campus and community.

Taylor, who is involved in various activities all across the Schreiner University campus stated, "Character is the values of characteristics that make up you as a person and your community that you decide to surround yourself with to participate in, whether it be at your university or in your personal life."

Many of these involvements include being the President of the Schreiner Book Club, representing the universities’ Student Government Association Vice President, serving as the treasurer for The Texas Student Nursing Association, and playing on the university’s volleyball team.

Off campus, Taylor also loves to spend time volunteering with various organizations and opportunities in the community, as well as spending time with family and friends.

“I think it is important to get involved in your community and or campus because it allows you to branch out and meet different types of people and experience types of opportunities, while allowing you to contribute to your community with your unique talents," said Taylor.
