Trinity, for the second consecutive round, improved its team score firing a third round of 305 to jump one spot in the team standings and sits 13th with a cumulative three-round total of 936 (+72). The Tigers finished the third round with 10 birdies, the most of any round to this point, pushing their total for the week to 25, tied for 11th most in the field. Trinity is also 11th in the field with 145 total pars as a team through the opening three rounds.
Carnegie Mellon, who was in second following the opening two days, jumped into the lead going into the final round after firing a third round of 294 (+4). Carnegie Mellon now leads Emory, the first and second round leaders, by two shots with a cumulative score of 891 (+27) to the Eagles’ 893 (+29) after they carded a round three score of 302 (+14).
Jessica Mason continues to lead the Tigers, jumping up into a tie for 11th going into the final round. Like the team, Mason improved her score for a second-straight round, posting a even-par round of 72. Her third-round featured four birdies and 10 pars to bring her three day cumulative total to 223 (+7). Mason is now tied for ninth in the field in par four scoring (4.20) and her 34 total pars are tied for sixth. Alejandra Sanchez De La Fuente Molino fired her second-straight round of 79 and now sits tied for 52nd with a three-round total of 234 (+18).
The final day of competition starts Friday morning as Trinity is scheduled to tee off hole 10 at 8:50 a.m. local time. The Tigers will be paired with former SCAC member, Centre College and Methodist University.
