MASON LUBBE OF SCHREINER UNIVERSITY, a senior defender on the men's soccer team from Frisco, Texas, has been selected the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Character and Community Male Student Athlete of the Week for the week beginning October 9.
The SCAC Character & Community award honors the efforts of student-athletes who excel in the field of athletics, and also serve their campus and community.
“Character & Community, to me, means being the best version of yourself and having the biggest impact on people both on and off the field," said Mason.
Mason is involved in many things on campus. He is a captain on the Schreiner men’s soccer team, a work-study participant for Schreiner intramurals, and is the Treasurer for the Schreiner Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).
Off campus, Mason also loves to spend time volunteering with the Sundogs Project, which is an organization that helps different animals in various shelters.
“I think that it is important, no matter who you are, to get involved on campus, whether its through sports or anything outside of that," continued Mason. "It allows you to connect with different people and grow as a community."
