SCAC Player of the Year, Oscar Roy of Southwestern and Trinity’s Jarred Perry, the SCAC Newcomer of the Year, both earned a spot in the NCAA Men’s Singles Championship. On the women’s side, SCAC Player of the Year, Ruth Hill of Trinity earned a spot in the NCAA Women’s Singles Championship. Hill will also be joined by her teammate Olivia Kim as the duo will also compete in the NCAA Women’s Doubles Championship.

The individual championships shall consist of 32 singles players and 16 doubles teams. The selection of teams and individuals for the championships is based on won-lost record, strength of schedule and eligibility and availability of student-athletes.

Roy, a junior from Toronto, Ontario, has amassed a 13-4 dual-match record at the No. 1 line for the Pirates and is 12th in the nation in the most recent ITA men's singles rankings – the highest-ranked player in the SCAC. He has picked up wins against six players ranked in the top 40 in the nation this season, including Michael Melnikov of Swarthmore and Raghav Jangbahadur of Carnegie-Mellon, who were both ranked inside the top 10 at the time he played them.

Perry will be the fourth straight Tiger to earn a spot in the singles competition after Hao Nguyen was selected last season and Cameron Krimbill represented Trinity in both 2021 and 2022. Last season, Nguyen was knocked out in the opening round of singles play. With Perry at the number one singles line, the Tigers claimed their 14th-straight Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championship. Perry has amassed a 10-14 overall record with a 9-13 record in dual matches this spring. In his last 10 matches, Perry is 5-5. Jared is also no stranger to competition, as he has played four matches against regionally ranked opponents or better.

Hill competed in both events last season, which marked the first time since 2012 that a Tiger has competed in both the singles and doubles competition in Trinity's NCAA III history. Last season, Hill was eliminated in round two of the singles tournament and fell in the first round of the doubles tournament with Kim.

Individually, Hill has played her way to an 18-6 record this season. This spring, Hill has played in the number one singles line and has an 11-5 record in dual matches. Hill is hot coming into the tournament as she has won her last three matches.

As doubles partners this season, Hill and Kim have accumulated a 19-8 overall record and a 14-7 record in dual matches this spring. The team has also played five matches against opponents that were regionally ranked or better. The duo is 6-4 in their last ten matches heading into the NCAA playoffs this weekend.
