IRVING, Texas - The nationwide search for a new men's and women's golf coach has concluded. Athletics Director Jarred Samples has announced that Stephanie Moorberg will take the helm of UD golf, effective immediately.
Though this will be Moorberg's first coaching gig at the collegiate level, she brings with her a wealth of golf experience. Most recently, she has been the First Assistant Golf Professional at Hackberry Creek Country Club here in Irving for the last two years, organizing tournaments, aiding junior clinics as well as teaching private lessons.
Perhaps her most notable accomplishment is that she is an active professional player, having achieved tour status on the Epson Tour and has been part of the Professional Golfers' Association of America's PGM 3.1 program since March 2023. Moorberg has been a professional since 2017 and currently plays on the Women's All-Pro Tour as well as playing sectional events in the North Texas PGA.
"I look forward to growing both the men's and women's golf programs here at UD and building on the momentum gained this past fall season," said Moorberg. "My wealth of knowledge from playing professionally is something I will lean on to lead both teams to the greatest amount of success that I know is possible."
