Austin College's Fleming Named AVCA National Player of the Week

LEXINGTON, Ky. - Austin College senior volleyball player Jessica Fleming has been named the Sports Imports/American Volleyball Coaches Association NCAA Division III National Player of the Week, the organization announced today. Fleming is on the third player in Austin College volleyball history to earn this award.

Fleming, a middle blocker from Lucas, helped the 'Roos to a perfect 4-0 record at the Southwestern Invitational, accumulating double-digit kills in each match and averaging 4.93 kills and 2.07 blocks per set with a .429 hitting percentage. Fleming's best match of the week came against Clarkson University, where she notched 19 kills and nine total blocks and hit an astounding .533 for the match.

Fleming also earned Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week honors this week for the second time this season and is the first SCAC player this season to earn national honors.
