Colorado College & Southwestern Earn Bids To NCAA Volleyball Championship

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference champion Colorado College earned the league's automatic bid to the 2011 NCAA Division III Women's Volleyball Championship. Southwestern University earned an at-large bid to the field as well. Interactive Bracket | Printable Bracket

Colorado College (31-6) won its second straight SCAC volleyball championship with a 3-1 win over Trinity University Saturday. The win earned the Tigers their 14th straight trip to the NCAA playoffs.

Head coach Rick Swan and his Tigers will square off against Hardin-Simmons (28-5) at regional host Cal Lutheran. Hardin-Simmons won its second consecutive American Southwest Conference (ASC) championship with a 3-2 win over McMurry on Saturday.

Southwestern (30-3), which finished with a perfect 14-0 conference mark, earned an at-large bid . Southwestern will play Chapman (Calif.) University. Chapman (23-8) earned an at-large bid out of the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC).

The Pirates of head coach Hannah Long are making their seventh consecutive trip (10th overall) to the NCAA championship.

Both Colorado College and Southwestern will open up NCAA play on Friday, November 11. Game times will be announced at a later time.
