JACKSON, Miss. - Second-seeded Colorado
College won its second consecutive SCAC title with a 3-1 victory
over fifth-seeded Trinity University Saturday night at the Hangar
Dome on the campus of Millsaps College.
The Tigers (31-6), ranked 13th in the nation, also secured an
automatic bid to the NCAA Division III playoffs. Official
invitations will be issued Monday, and Colorado College will

Schornack of Plano, Texas, was selected as Tournament
MVP. Also making the elite team for the Tigers were junior
outside hitter Laura Goldsmith of Pacific Palisades, Calif.; and
senior libero Hannah Varnell of Clemmons, N.C.

Trinity (22-16) had two All-Tournament selections, junior outside hitter Madison McMahon of Austin, Texas, and junior libero Meredith Erwin of Oakton, Va.
Millsaps College senior outside hitter Maggie Tumminello of Baton Rouge, La., made the team, as did Southwestern University senior right side Jill Wigington of Keller, Texas.
Earlier in the day, Colorado College defeated sixth-seeded Millsaps 3-1 (25-23, 18-25, 25-20, 25-18) in the semifinals. Trinity knocked off top-seeded and the sixth-ranked team in the nation Southwestern University, 3-1 (23-25, 25-11, 25-21, 25-22) in the other semifinal match.
Southwestern captured third place with a 3-0 win over Millsaps. Fourth-seeded Birmingham-Southern College took fifth place, beating 10th-seeded Rhodes College 3-1. Third-seeded Austin College defeated No. 9 the University of Dallas 3-1 for a seventh-place finish. Ninth place went to No. 8 Hendrix, a 3-1 winner over No. 11 Oglethorpe. Seventh-seeded Centre College finished 11th with a 3-0 sweep of the tournament's 12th-seed, the University of the South-Sewanee.
