The SCAC has not conducted a postseason men's soccer tournament since 1992.

Fourth-ranked Trinity University (9-0-0 SCAC; 14-0-2 overall), who wrapped up its 10th undefeated conference season with a 2-1 win over the University of Dallas on Sunday, is the tournament's top seed and will receive a first-round bye into Saturday's semifinal round.

Oglethorpe University (8-1-0 SCAC; 15-3-0 overall), who is ranked 25th in the nation, earned the tournament's other bye despite suffering its only conference loss of the season on Sunday, a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Sewanee-The University of the South.

Host school Birmingham-Southern College (6-3-0; 10-6-0) and Centre College (5-3-1; 11-5-2) will open play on Friday in a battle of the fourth and fifth seeds. The quarterfinal match will be a rematch from Sunday's regular season finale where Birmingham-Southern earned a 3-0 victory over the visiting Colonels.

Colorado College (6-3-0; 11-4-3) will be the tournament's third seed and will tangle with sixth-seeded Southwestern University (4-5; 7-9-1) in Friday's second quarterfinal match. Colorado College earned the higher seed over Birmingham-Southern because of its 2-1 victory over the Panthers on Oct. 7.
