Centre earned the third seed at the SCAC Tournament and will square off against Sewanee Saturday afternoon in the semifinals looking to earn its first SCAC Women’s Lacrosse Title.

Colorado College improved to 13-3 by winning two of three road games and in the process tied the program record for victories in a single season set initially in 2004 and equaled last year. Senior midfielder Grace Maloney and freshman attacker Madeline Pitkin struck for three goals apiece as the Tigers began the week with an 18-6 victory at Ohio Wesleyan University on Thursday night. Junior attacker Ellie Cole, senior attacker Leslie Jacoby, junior midfielder Kate Krieger and junior attacker Frances Staadt added a pair of markers for CC. Junior midfielder Ginna Oates recorded four draw controls and three ground balls for the Tigers, who held an opponent to fewer than 10 goals for the 10th time in 14 games. With four goals and a pair of assists in the 12-11 loss at Centre, Maloney became the first Tiger to eclipse the 40-goal mark in a single season since Kate Fitzgerald (47) and Robin Harvey (41) in 2007, as well as the first CC player to record 60 points since Cassie Abel (78) and Helen Sneath (66) in 2004. Despite the loss, the Tigers claimed the top seed for the SCAC Championship on a tie breaker after finishing with a 4-1 record in league play. Junior goalie Abby Fink finished with 12 saves. Colorado College completed its regular season in style with a 17-4 romp over the College of Mount St. Joseph in Cincinnati, Ohio, on Sunday. The Tigers controlled play at both ends of the field, holding an opponent to fewer than 10 goals for the ninth time while scoring enough to record a double-digit margin of victory for the seventh occasion. Maloney found the cage on all three of her shots to help the Tigers build an 11-4 lead at halftime, while Cole struck for a pair of markers and added a pair of assists to finish the contest with four points. Fink steered aside 13 shots to record double-digit saves for the seventh time this season, while Oates caused a season-high three turnovers and tied her season high with four ground balls.

Dallas (2-10, 0-5 SCAC) wrapped up their 2012 season with a 19-5 road loss Sunday to Birmingham-Southern College.

Millsaps wrapped up what has been a successful second season of play with the team going in the right direction as they traveled to the University of the South on Saturday afternoon to take on the Sewanee Tigers. A 12 goal first half by the Tigers was enough for them to hold on as they defeated the Majors 18-8. The two teams exchanged goals for the five minutes as senior Laura Gray and sophomore Haleigh Williams got the scoring started. The Tigers came back with three straight goals before Williams narrowed the gap with her second goal of the season. After another Tiger goal, freshman Kendall Fann got on the board with an assist from sophomore Jamie Blair Page to make it a 7-4 game. However, Sewanee pulled away in the second half with six straight goals and two more to start the second half. Millsaps did not go down easily as Williams added four goals in the second half, but it was not enough as the Tigers defeated the Majors 18-8. Williams led the march with six goals on the afternoon while Fann and Gray each added one. Williams also added six groundballs on the afternoon as she ends the year as one of the top goal scorers this season. Freshman Nicholette Hannah had 11 saves on the afternoon. The Majors end the season at 3-10 and 1-4 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference, but made huge strides in their second season of play. They will look to return to form next season as they continue to build for championships in the future.

Sewanee closed out the regular season with a pair of conference wins this past weekend. The Tigers opened with an impressive 19-8 win over BSC, before earning a 18-8 victory over Millsaps. Sewanee enters the postseason as the No. 2 seed in the upcoming conference tournament. The Tigers welcome BSC, Centre and Colorado College after finding its offensive rhythm.
