LEXINGTON, Ky. - Eight volleyball student-athletes from the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference were named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-Region teams, the organizations announced.
In the South Region, Maggie Emodi of Trinity University headlined the all-region team as the was also named the AVCA South Region Freshman of the Year. Emodi was also recently named the SCAC Newcomer of the Year as well.
Joining Emodi on the team was senior teammate Catharine Found. SCAC Player of the Year Christina Nicholls of Southwestern University earned all-region laurels as well as teammate Rachel Thibodeau.
Earning South Region honorable mention laurels was Trinity's Meredith Erwin and Southwestern's Lindsay Thompson.
In the West Region, Colorado College senior Amy Schornack was named to the all-region team. She was joined on the team by honorable mention selection, junior teammate Laura Goldsmith.
