SCAC Has Five Selected To Capital One Academic All-District® Men's Track/Cross Country Teams

SUWANEE, Ga. - The Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) had five student-athletes named to the 2012 Capital One Academic All-District Men's Track/Cross Country teams as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), the organization announced.

John Kieffer and Willie Polio of Centre College, Hank Ballard and Andy Clark of Birmingham-Southern College, and Robbie Caseria of Colorado College each earned First Team recognition.

Kieffer, a sophomore Physics/Math major who carries a 3.54 Grade Point Average (GPA), and Polio, a senior Chemical Physics major who earned a perfect 4.00 GPA, were both District 2 First-Team selections. Ballard, a sophomore Biology major with a 3.82 GPA and Clark, a junior Religion major who carries a 3.97 GPA, both earned District 5 First Team recognition. Caseria, a senior English/Creative Writing major earned First Team academic honors in District 8 after amassing a 3.54 GPA.

As First-team Academic All-District® honorees, all five SCAC student-athletes will advance to the Capital One Academic All-America® Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be selected later this month.
