Senior midfielder Grace Maloney scored three goals late in the second half to help Colorado College pull away for a 15-7 victory over Colorado Mesa on Saturday afternoon. Playing through blowing snow and gusty winds during the final 30 minutes, Maloney's strikes were part of a 6-0 run that put an end to the Mavericks' valiant comeback effort which began after the Tigers scored the first five goals. Junior defender Nancy Makuch and sophomore defender Krysti Kiesel each grabbed four ground balls and recorded one draw control. Freshman midfielder Dylan Voneiff gave CC a 7-6 lead 45 seconds into the first half, but FLC scored slightly less than four minutes apart to take its final lead with 25-14 remaining. Playing for the second time in less than 24 hours, Colorado College finally got its offense on track during the final 20 minutes. Tallies by senior attacker Kelsey Morell and junior midfielder Anna Crosby put the Tigers back in front 9-8, and after Jessica Norby tied the game for the last time with 16:35 remaining, Maloney scored four times in a span of 6:32 to put CC ahead to stay.
