SALEM, Va. - Seven Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) rising senior football student-athletes were named to the 2011 D3 Senior Classic Preseason All-American team. Shane Bowser of Millsaps, Ben Hume of Centre and Zac Atkins of Sewanee were named to the first-team.

Bowser, a running back, was second in the SCAC in rushing after running for 1,088 yards and 12 touchdowns while leading the league in scoring (9.6 points/game). Hume helped the Centre offensive line to the second best rushing attack in the SCAC as the Colonels ran for 171.6 yards per game in 2010. Atkins, a linebacker, was third in the league in tackles after averaging 9.6 tackles per game last season.

Three players were named to the second team including Austin College tight end Greg Harrell, Austin College offensive lineman Patrick Coleman and Austin College linebacker Ken Eneh.
